YOU CANT HOLD THE SRC TO RANSOM OVER INDIVIDUAL QUEST FOR POWER, SWEAR STEPHANIE NAADU ANTWI AND DANIEL OBENG IN TO TAKE CHARGE OF THE SRC - UNIVERSITY OF GHANA STUDENT LEADERS PETITION MANAGEMENT



A petition cited by LegonFillaHeadquaters to the Vice Chancellor of the University of Ghana Prof. Nana Aba Appiah Amfo is calling on Management to order the SRC to swear in Secretary-Elect Stephanie Naadu Antwi and Treasurer-Elect Daniel Obeng Asamoah in as SRC Executives and also as caretakers to man the SRC and students affairs till the tussle at the SRC is finally resolved.

The Conveyor for the Group, Ebenezer Parker, the SRC Vice President for the University of Ghana Accra City Campus is praying Management to order the SRC to swear in the Elected Executives whose elections are not being disputed to take charge of the SRC to prevent a vacuum at the student front.

The petition is supported by other student leaders including the SRC Secretary of the Accra City Campus of the University of Ghana, Desmond Buabeng, JCR President of Legon Hall, Prince Arthur, the JCR President of Mensah Sarbah Hall Daniel Kofi Frimpong, The JCR President of Dr.Hilla Limman Hall, Albert Okwei, The Acting JCR President of Alexander Adum Kwapong Hall, Aklamah Derrick, the JCR President of Evandy Hostel, Pamela Ami Seyram, the JCR President of TF Hostel, Solomon Nii Odoi, The Presiding Member of the Commonwealth Hall House of Lords, Prince Agyenim Boateng, The President of the School of Languages, Joseph Appiah-Danquah, President of The Political Science Students Association(POSSA), Stephen Awuah Pobi amongst others.






They believe the SRC leadership can not be left vacant due to the lack of consensus between the two presidential candidates and as such, until such a time a resolution is built, the Elected Executives i.e Secretary and Treasurer should be sworn in to man the affairs of the SRC.

 Information reaching Legon Filla Headquarters indicates that, the Second Deputy Electoral Commissioner of the University of Ghana SRC Electoral Commission, Boaz Twumasi has resigned from his post as Second Deputy EC.  From our sources, the resignation is contained in a letter submitted to EXECOM and dated 19th December 2021.  In an EXECOM meeting held yesterday, 22nd December 2021, the Ag.SRC President, Kwame Amo Ntow Fianko indicated to EXECOM that, he has received the resignation letter from Boaz Twumasi. It is unclear what necessitated the resignation of Boaz Twumasi, however Campus Filla Headquaters is following the happenings on campus with regards to the SRC Transition and is poised on bringing you updates till the end.

#UGDECIDES: ACCRA HIGH COURT PLACES INJUNCTION ON SRC TRANSITION PROCESSES .

  The Accra High Court has placed an injunction on the swearing in of any candidate as the SRC President of the University of Ghana. According to the writ cited, The Accra High Court has placed an injunction on a possible swearing in ceremony of a new SRC President. This was granted as a relief sought by the SRC President Elect, Prince Asumadu.   This comes after the SRC Judicial Board in its contempt ruling added that, following the cancellation of the Sarbah and Akuafo Hall Elections, Samuel Amos Ofosu should be sworn in as SRC President of the University of Ghana. According to Prince Asumadu, this was an attempt by the SRC President Kwame Amo Ntow Fianko, The SRC Chief Justice Regina Apaloo, The Dean of Student Prof. Godfred Alufar Bopkin and the University management to rob him of his victory and impose their favored candidate on the student body.
